That watercolor mode just never fails to impress me. The way it rendered the colors, the way it keeps just the right amount of detail on the buildings etc. It just works so well for creating what in my mind is the prototypical "watercolor" look

I agree! I also like the illustration look but only with certain compositions like architectural/skyline images.
I took the M2 to do a little 'street'. I didn't quite nail the sharpest focus on all these but I like them regardless.
Thanks David! I've never shot with the M1 so I can say. I like the tilt screen for street and yes, I'm shooting from the hip. I'm trying to get a good approach using the camera for street. Right now, not being experienced with zone focusing, I set the camera to shutter priority (1/250s or faster) with Auto ISO. High ISO shots with grain don't necessarily bother me too much and sometimes add to the street feel. But open to other experiences and approaches.
Tried the M2 in a shop, it seems noticably heavier (I haven't compared the spec) than my M1 and it seems bigger.
I purchased this RX100 skin here from the BayRX-100 skin (I'm just a customer, not associated with the seller) and I think it's a inexpensive way to improve the handling of the camera (without adding weight and size). The camera is much less slippery with that skin.
OK this is a picture thread... some from yesterday's hiking. It was raining for a while, color was dull so I used B&W.

Yeah, it's the thing I'll probably miss most about my RX100.
I'd consider pulling the grip material off the top section. I think the line running down the middle looks a bit odd. To each his own of course, but that is how ended up doing mine.

That's exactly what I did with mine. I didn't put on the stickers for the upper part.
First post here as a new rx100 owner. I shot it along with a 5d3 on a rainy day in August. These are hand held while the 5d3 was on a tripod so it is my fault these don't quite hold up to the DSLR, but the sensor showed me it will do its part if I will take the time to use the camera properly.
Any CC welcome and thanks for looking!
