I rarely get shots of my son, he absolutely hates the camera pointed at him. Last week, he had a bone graft done (he was born with a cleft lip and palate). The surgeons did a fantastic job and everything went perfectly. His recovery is going extremely well, also. But he is a bit sore and not very mobile as they harvested the bone from his hip. So he's spent a lot of time over the last week just resting, watching videos and playing his PSP. It's been interesting to watch very close bond develop between him and his sister. He was never super cuddly with her before, but that seemed to change this week. She also has shown great concern over her big 'bubba' and constantly checks on him and frequently gives him her favorite toys.
I popped in to check on him and this was the scene I saw. Fortunately, he allowed me to grab a quick shot.
thats a really special moment you captured. I like how wide you went to include the balloons. it makes sense to include them as part of the story of his recovery..
I did the typical Mommy face when I saw this one. What a fantastic moment. There is nothing like seeing your kids love for each other to melt your heart!
Most people would take a close-up of the two of them. Not you And that's a good thing. Now there is a whole story there.
and I love the diaper box propping up the laptop/dvd player.
The only critique is that I'd have like more DOF (but that may not have been possible due to lighting...), and there seems to be a tiny tilt going on (I'm crazy sensitive to tilts )
Z - I knew you'd get a chuckle over our diaper box, DVD holder thingy. I always love your feedback and suggestions! And yes, there is an unintentional tilt. It actually really bugs me, too. But when I straighten it cuts a bit of the balloon and his picture on the left which bugged me more. I definitely could have gone a little more stopped down had I kicked it up to ISO 3200. I was rushing a bit.
