Thanks, I kept it somewhat of a tight crop as the bike shots were tight, and applied less sharpening...after croping...I seem to have a tendency to over sharpen and it shows more on tight crops...shooting with a 300 FL, even on a 1.6 body...is a bit of a stretch at that location on the track...
The tight crop would work better as part of a sequence in which wider shots showing more context are seen first.
The panning created a nice feeling off speed. But the centered composition works against that by making the car seem static. Putting more space in front or behind the car would create the impression it is either coming or going.
