Yakim - the continuous AF performance on these cameras isn't limited by the lens. It performs the same as any other fast focusing lens for m4/3 when using C-AF. That is, average at best for stills and decent for video, provided the subject isn't moving too fast. I didn't mention it because I frankly shot very very little C-AF during my time, and not enough to definitively review that portion, but all the super-fast focusing lenses are about the same in all aspects of AF performance. 10X a lot. Do you - by any chance - have access to GH2? I've read it has better continuous AF.
I owned a GH2 for a year and a half. (I sold it when I got my OM-D). In my experience none of the micro 4/3 cameras are great for continuous AF. They do fine for horizontal motion, but fall apart if something is coming at you quickly and close (OK at further distances). While I don't have my GH2, I do have a GX1, which is actually a little better than the GH2 in the AF department, and probably overall has the best AF of any camera I've ever owned in single shot.
I wonder if continuous AF will be improved on the GH3 and OM-Dx. I am sure it's just a matter of time before they lick this problem. Can't wait for the pro or "high end" version of the OM-D to appear this winter!

Considering continuous AF is near impossible with CDAF, probably wont happen. Its quite simple. CDAF measures contrast across field and what has most is in focus (simply put it works exactly like focus peaking in NEX, only difference is that processor does work and not you).
Which has obviously one tiny problem, camera has no clue where is subject moving, unlike PDAF, where camera can have very good idea where is subject moving (and predict it even when AF sensors are blind for moment cause you are just taking photo).
Unless someone invent some incredible CDAF algorithm for continuous focus, then it wont get better for mirrorless. Better solution would be probably manage to incorporate PDAF in them somehow. I think Nikon 1 is already using this way..
