p.1 #1 · Mount Assiniboine, British Columbia - Day 1
This weekend I took a helicopter flight into Mount Assiniboine to see what it looked like in the spring. [Ok technically summer, but spring for Assiniboine].
As per usual, the first day was spectacular, with 25c (75c) temperatures, and sun -- and then it rained and rained.
Here are my best pictures from the first day in challenging light.
Comments and feedback is appreciated. I must have got 20 mosquito bites per picture taken here. It was brutal without my DEET that I forgot at camp in my excitement to get going. Scott
[The white stuff is snow - I got to cool my water in a snowbank beside my tent]

Great shots Scott. You obviously wandered around that spot (Niblet?) a lot more than I did. I liked it with the larch colors in the fall, but I gotta say these shots with the summer green are really great too.
I like 3 and 4 best, though I might be tempted to crop that lake on the far right in #4.

dwa652: Nub is the mountain. Nublet is the plateau that these were taken from. I too like September, but I thought I would try it in the spring. I shall play with your crop idea. Thanks for the specific suggestion. Much appreciated. Scott

Zndr: 4 is a software stitch of 3 images into a panorama - unfortunately I had to lean back a bit (or take more time) which created a slight tilt. Maybe I should fix the lean. I will look at it this evening. So unintended lean, just caused by oppressive mosquitoes forcing me to hurry when taking. I could have shifted up and then moved the camera instead of tilting and shifting without moving the camera. Scott

stanparker: It is one of my favorite spots in the world that I have seen so far. Glad you like the pictures because I have more coming. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
ben egbert: Glad you like them. Standing in the mosquitoes was dedication to my hobby. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Hey Scott, beautiful set. The trail in the first image detracts from the beauty of the mountains, and that is why I like it the least. I like 2, 4 and 3 in order of preference because of the wider view of the mountains.

Scott, fantastic series. The first seems a bit dull due to rather uninteresting FG, but the rest is fantastic. The second one is probably my favorite. I'd definitely love to visit this some day, but I hear it takes a lot of work (or helicopter) to get there?
