p.1 #1 · Where to get a few Phillips TL950 t8 bulbs?
Hi,
I'm trying to build a DIY Kino light and see that the 98CRI TL950 is the one to get. Anyone know where I can buy them in New York City or order them online without a minimum order of 25. The places I've looked at (such as 1000bulbs.com) only have minimum orders of 25. I just need 4-8.
Also if you know of a ballast that goes with it or an set of shoplights that would work with the bulbs.

Thanks for those links. I saw your DIY Kino and very envious
What are the requirements for electronic ballasts for running the TL950? Can I use any
120-277 electronic ballasts like the GE 3-Lamp 120 - 277 Volt Replacement Ballast for 4 ft. T8 Fluorescent Lamps:
I'm not near a lowes but live near a Home Depot. I made a DIY kino from 2 sets of 2 bulb Philipps 92CRI 5000k bulbs yesterday and the results were not as good as yours. Is there a major difference between 92 CRI and 98 CRI. The results were not really as spectacular as the ones you posted. Is it because of your reflectors? I just had the tubes aimed at my model's face in vertical and then horizontal configurations like in the Hurley DVD. I think the results were soft but not great cuz the light was probably scattered.
How did you connect the remote ballast to the main light? Please help us with step-by-step/

Hi,
I looked at lowes.com for the ballast you listed but couldn't find it. Can you use residential or commercial two-light ballasts from advance such as these. Do you prefer rapid vs. instant start ballasts?

I have no experience with the ones listed above. I know the philips centium is not on lowes.com, but it was at the store for about $20. Again, its just what i used, you can experiment, just make sure its an electronic ballast.
