p.1 #1 · Dogwood - Eddy's White Wonder

Native dogwood around the Interior of BC are long gone but this hybridized version is still going strong. These images were taken in deep shade which should conserve the whites. However, I am disappointed with how dull they appear even after tweaking them in LR4 and adjusting levels. Presented for your viewing pleasure and C and C.

Alan

Edit: added an edit of the first image with more advanced adjustments. Let me know what you think.

Alan

The detail is great yet I agree about the whites. It looks like you did not compensate for the whites in your exposure. I downloaded and played with the last one. If you adjust levels and then use curves to add some brightness to the middle it gets pretty nice.

Yes I would agree with Morris, the first could be adjusted with a bump in curves. I really like the comp of 2, there seems to be a greenish cast to it The last would be my pick, the depth of field is working really well for me, the center of the flower is super sharp and detailed.Well done Alan

Thanks Morris. I needed another set of eyes to confirm what I thought was true. Thanks for the feedback. I went back into CS5 and adjusted the levels and curves of image 1 to generate image 3.

Thanks Tim. Yes, 2 does have a greenish cast which I have attempted to remove in LR4 but see now that I need to take the image into CS5 for finer and more complete adjustments. Appreciate the feedback. Image 3 is a rework of image 1 and I think it is improved. Thanks for stopping by.

Appreciate you stopping by Joe. These flowers do have a creaminess to them that is attractive.
