I was spectin' to see shots like these in the Macro forum
I was thinking this was a test and I was supposed to pick which critter doesn't belong in the group.........lets say GBH
So one minute you go out to clean the deck and show up with Jumpers and stuff and now you just gotta keep gettin closer and closer and pretty soon unless you tell me I won't know what the heck I'm looking at!
You have a good critical eye for focus Ron, these are darn amazing!
So my favs are:
#3 that one rocks!!
#4 there is a lot wrong with this shot to turn out sooooo good Yes, that means I like it
#5 simply awesome man, love the light and separation, stellar details and a cool warrior this hopper is!!
So you don't have any larvae shots of these destructive Jap Beetles do you, that would certainly turn everybody off, they are really cool in the right light, the armor looking green with the tiny indents is so cool. Nice work on them.
Oh man Mantis is trick, wicked and I need more of this guy!!

Wonderful set Ron !!! Beautiful gray hairstreak butterfly ! Great detail in the grasshoppers and the beetle .

Quite a nice set Ron, I go with the beave as my favourite.
Thanx Tim for the high praise. The beaver was accidental, but I like the results. I have shot hundreds if not thousands of GBH over the years, but still can't resist either.

Good set Ron. I like the last one, with the head entering the shot from above. Beaver shot is good too. Wonder what those white bits in the nose are.
Thanx Ken. The PM is my favorite. Every time I look at the beaver, I think I should have cloned out the white bits.
Wow is that one tight shot of a beaver (sounds kind of inappropriate ).
The reflection and perspective really makes this image stand out...
well done,
bruce

Thanx Bruce. I normally see these guys when I'm headed towards the sun, so it's not a good shot. This one appeared when I had the sun at my back for a change.

Amazing set Ron....such detail and variety - and all with a 500mm and ext tube. The GBH was with the 500 - no tube Why the hell did I just buy a 180 macro Well done!!!
Jim
Thanx Jim, but only the beaver was with the 500 + tube. The GBH was with the 500 - no tube. The rest were with a Sigma 150 macro + tube.

Cool shots Ron, it is amazing what you can find to photograph when you just look around. Bruce
Thanx Bruce. I used to wonder how people got the great images they post here. The bottom line is you have to get out and shoot. If you spend enough time out shooting, you will get some amazing shots.
