My week old silver body, quit today after taking about 85 images with the Lumix 20MM. I first started using an FD lens and then the 24MM Lumix. Neith new battery would fire it up. The 10 minute walk back to my car cleared the problem of starting up. Any help?

firmware 1.2 fixed this problem. it's a communication issue with that panasonic lens specifically. however 1.2 was pulled and not available anymore.

cputeq, I'm really like the rendering you're getting out of that Panny Leica 25mm f1.4 lens.
What lens did you use for the volleyball shot?
Thanks and that's exactly why I bought the lens (though really I haven't put it through major paces) - it has pretty much converted me to a 50mm FOV fan.
I also used it for the volleyball shot, since it's the fastest lens I have. I should probably use something a bit longer, but I have no idea how to shoot volleyball and this was a quick shot before we started playing.
Resolution isn't very good, but colors, contrast and ”definition” is alright. Especially considering the price and weight of this thing. I keep this little 211 gram lens in my bag for whenever I feel the urge to go wider or narrower than with the 20/1.7. Or closer, for that matter, since there is a nice macro mode as well.
I agree. It's a much better lens than many have made it out to be. It's actually rather sharp (though not as good as a good prime) its got a great range and the macro mode is very useful. Only real downside is speed at the long end.
Yes, the 12-50 macro kit lens is actually very good, and versatile. I won't pay $500 for it but at $300 it's good value for what you get. Great for grab shots and snapshots i.e. as a walk-around lens.
