Well, I have asked Fred, at the time that the vote was 12-1 or so. Now it is 13-4, I think. I am sure he will peek in here to see what is going on first, and then decide. I will probably not post here on this topic again, and would recommend that everyone who would like to see all MFT content in the MFT thread simple move over there at this point.
Hi everyone. I am debating myself if to try or not to join a pro assignment with my OMD outfit instead a large pro Canon gear.
What bothers me the most is the lacking of double slot
have anyone had any experience with the Eye Fi Mobile X2? If I would be able to transfer in real time a second copy to my iPad, I'd feel good; to be able to send immediately a pic would be great in many circumstances, too.
I'm not thinking of replacing definitely the Canon, but to use the Olympus in certain jobs where discretion and lightness can make the work very nice. I also love very much 50 PL, 45 and 75...
I voted to merge the threads but in reality, I don't really care. I do think we are wasting valuable space here debating it when we should be posting images or sharing photographic knowledge.
Here is a snapshot of a street scene from a recent business trip to Portland, Oregon. I continue to love the OMD as the best travel camera I have ever had the pleasure to use. I will post something more artistic later in the day when I am completely awake.
To put things in perspective here, In the same time period (since July 1) the MFT thread has added 22 pages, and this thread has added 84 pages, and some of the stuff in the MFT thread was also OM-D related. It would be closer to the truth to say that the MFT stuff will drown in OM-D photos than the other way around.

Well said Carsten. Was thinking the same thing myself as far as contribution. Mine is very little as I buy and sell cameras like I am trying to fund dialysis treatment daily I will have another OM-D next week so if this is still ongoing, I'll cast a vote then... Lol.

Wow, sorry I said anything. I have had this camera for a grand total of a week, I have had exactly 4 hours free and 3 of that was spent doing errands. You asked for opinions, sorry mine didn't jive with yours.

I did not want to decide anything about this thread, I enjoyed it as-is, until the party crashers showed up. It is you at al who want to usurp it, and I am merely putting up resistance, a self-defense, if you will.
As for "not contributing," isn't it obvious why? I do not own OM-D (yet), but I am extremely interested in acquiring one. On the other hand, I have zero interest in any other camera that I would have to hold like a baby with dirty diapers. And, according to your own statistics (i.e., 22 vs. 84 new pages), many other people think the same. So, why on Earth would you want to merge (or shall I say "pollute") a more interesting thread with a less interesting one? Jealousy?

Don't take it that way please, it isn't meant to put anyone off, it was just a suggestion on my part which seemed to resonate with a number of others (but not quite everyone). Note that I do not own an E-M5, but plan to buy the E-PL5 which has the same sensor (I currently own an E-PL3).

What I was doing is not usurping or crashing a party. I asked what people thought, most agreed, about 4:1.
What you are doing is not defending, you are mudslinging and escalating a small issue into something larger and uglier, and you are doing that from the position of someone who doesn't normally contribute anything.
And please, don't talk in terms of ruining or usurping or party crashing or any other non-descriptive term. The net effect of the merge would be that you would have to skip about every fifth post because it wasn't done with an E-M5. If you can't survive that, I am not your main problem.

Add me to this camp. I enjoy looking at what the OM-D can do and I enjoy looking at what the GH-2/GH-3 can do as well. What I would not like is sifting through pages of OM-D pics if I'm researching the GH-2/GH-3.
