Question to members who own and use the new E-M1 body - for a large user of legecy glass, does the focus peaking merit the purchase price of the new camera body ?

IMO, no. Olympus's focus peaking is horrible. You only have the outline colors of black and white, and neither choice really shows up very well, and it slows the EVF refresh rate because I guess it's considered a "filter" like Oly's other filters -- I guess they haven't figured out (or don't care) too much about peaking to do it properly.
That said, the VF-4 is really freaking nice, and you might not need focus peaking.
Personally I've never been a big fan of peaking, even on things like my NEX-5N - it's quite often inaccurate, especially with fast glass.
For me at least, pumping up JPEG sharpening to MAX and eyeballing it in the VF is much more accurate, as I just look for a "shimmer" in the VF. YMMV of course.
Here's one of my favorite images from last Saturday at Old Car City USA in White, GA. If you've never been there, it's a treat for photographers. I came home with so many images that it was hard to choose the winners. Still trying to edit my set of keepers.

Fantastic EM-1 review. Very fair and even-handed. I agree with most of what you said - it is an impressive camera. Thanks for all the work.
Rick
Thanks for the kind words Rick, I really appreciate it I considered it a challenge to try to cover most of the bases I wanted to cover, and I think I *still* left some stuff out, but oh well, it was fun completing it (if fairly labor-intensive)
Maybe I'll make a few addendum's when I get the time.
I only just got my E-M5, but coming from a GH2 I have to say I'm extremely impressed with the IBIS, and pleasantly surprised by the solid semi-macro mode on the 12-50.
Not bad for 1/10s handheld in low light through 10mm of aquarium glass -
I hope Fred and you guys don't mind the plug - it's ad-free, just a labor of love (for now)
If you happen to read it and find any problems or have questions, gimme a yell!
This is a very good review although I had only skimmed through it. Definitely very useful for anyone thinking about getting the E-M1. The E-M5 or E-M1 is not a pocketable camera and it was never meant to be, unlike the E-P5, so I have no problems with the size. It is compact or baby DSLR.
I do have to agree with you that the E-M1 is sexy-nice although many people seem to think otherwise. It's certainly a lot nicer than most DSLR's IMO. The grip could be shaped or molded a little better but it's functional and it does the job well.
With regard to the camera height being a little short, I solved that problem (totally by accident) by getting the RRS L-plate which I needed. If you don't really care for an L-pate I would still recommend that you get the base plate, as it covers the entire base of the base of the camera and adds 3/8" to its height (even to the grip) so your pinky can rest comfortably around the grip.
