Broke down and just ordered the EM1 and the 12-40 Pro. I couldn't help it, looked really nice. Canceled my A7 because I knew I'd get tired of lugging around the larger lenses, even if the body is sexy small.
Sweet!
I almost really broke down this week and ordered a Fuji X100s, then I almost ordered a Fuji X-Pro 1 with two primes, then I almost ordered the 12-40 for the Olympus and then almost ordered the 75mm instead. In the end I ALMOST went out and bought a Ricoh GR in a local store... man, my willpower to not fall for GAS has really been put to the test this week but for once I have beat the GAS (although only for a short time I suppose). The Ricoh GR would be a really nice alternative to a wide angle on my Em-5
Good luck with it and let us know what you think of it!
Beautiful sharp photos Snapsy, maybe slightly too harsh lighting for my taste but still great looking, the PL 25 is amazing!
Duke, amazing landscapes as always, getting tired of telling you that
Bobby, great shots! Looks like the 12-40 is really good all across the frame and at all focal lengths! A little bit disturbing background on one of them (where she is caught in the jump infront of the fountain) but great no the less!
Michael, I'm soooo jealous of the kayak-shot, great shot and it makes me long for kayaking again!
Just downloaded the latest trail version of Nik Software collection (well called Google Nik Collection now).
They recently added an Analog Efex Pro which simulates a lot of old analog stuff, even the pretty bad parts such as dust and scratches on negatives, wet plates etc. I think I will really like it. Also tried out their sharpening software some more and once you learn it I think it can give some pretty good results, I haven't tried it much yet though so we'll see how I like that, I have a feeling you might wanna use the sharpening software together with the de-noise software in order to surpress some of the noise that the sharpening software produces.
I also live Silver Efex Pro /Pro 2 since a long while back.
Here are two tries of mundane objects I shot today. Em-5, Olympus 45mm.
Edit: Btw, come to think of it, I forgot to remove the added grain form Analog Efex which means I actually sharpened that grain as well, might not have been the smartest decision when it comes to quality... I de-noised it somewhat in lightroom afterwards.
One of the newest (if not the newest) shopping mall in Sweden, it actually got an architectural reward recently.
Just a quick snapshot of one of the sides of it, will go back some day soon and study it some more. I believe it has a lot to offer in terms of new angles and composition.
Edited in Silver Efex pro 2 then de-noised with their Nik Software Define, it actually gave me amazing results with the de-noise (again, I had some noise added in Silver Efex Pro 2 due to editing) it basically made the picture butter smooth with all sharp details preserved, will have to try it on some real noisy pictures and see how it performs.

Haha thanks :0)
My GAS can be bad at times, but after playing with the 5D3 and 6D for a while, I realized I wanted a smaller system. I would be rocking a Fuji XE2 setup right now if they'd only put a tilt rear LCD Yes, it's that important to me! Also, m43 has some lenses Fuji doesn't and is smaller, so whatever.
I'll be sure to give a report once it comes in, supposedly it's getting shipped today with probably a monday delivery.
The tilting LCD is great but defiantly not a deal breaker for me, it's nice to have and I'd probably miss if a little bit if I got the Fuji way but I don't think it'll be that bad. I am considering the A7/A7r but like you say, the lenses on FF are still big as hell compared to m43. I guess one could go legacy only and use MF (which I like anyway) but the verdict is still out on how well it will perform with those lenses. I have a feeling a 36mp sensor will be very demanding on not only the lens but on the adapter as well.
Two more edited in Analog Efex pro, experimenting now with some new tools and techniques to see what different results I get. I do like the little faded style for portraits and it's something I normally do anyway but so far Analog Efex pulls it off far faster
