This applies to the Panasonic 100-300 lens too i.e. it gets quite a bit softer at the longer end.

Another quick shot from the 75-300. It's definitely not exceptional at the long end, but it isn't bad either...it's good for the size and price. I'm finding it very sharp in the 75-220 range, though.
This is at 300mm wide open...just a test shot with flash
Took the 75-300 to the MX track today. It seems to have done ok. I guess I need to stop comparing this system to something like a 5Diii and Canon 300 2.8. When it comes to a set up like that, the OMD just can't compete. I think I'll hang on to the 75-300 for a while though, the results we not bad.
Nate, decent work on the track there. How well did you find the tracking ability. The pany is awful past 250, even struggles to lock focus at time when the subject is near infinity.
This shot, which was taken with the Oly 75-300, is certainly not up to the level of the Nikkor 300/4 AFS (but not that far off) on either a D800 or D7100, but it is superior to the results with the 70-300VR, which, IMO, is much softer at 300. It's borderline acceptable, but for serious long work, it's still the DSLR package for me.

17/2.8...
I shot using Single Shot, C-AF. I found that subjects coming from straight ahead towards the camera were much easier to lock focus on. However, tracking the bikes as they moved from side to side through the frame, proved much more difficult. As far as focal length, at 300 it was harder to focus, but up to about 250, I'd say, I was able to catch them. As every one says, for the price and weight, this system is great! But for certain applications, a DSLR set up is still way ahead.

This is very nice, Julian. Nice clean colors. Great lighting.
Thank you Bobby.
Yet I did not capture how good it really was. The light was incredible and have tried this to capture this photo a few times with this light, not succeeding as well as I see it in the flesh by a long way.

Could it be that your exposure was a little short and not far enough to the right? Anyway, it's pleasant and easy on the eyes.
