Mawz love the tin can, my kind of photo to like. Something un obvious to photo.
Gerbrand, you have some friendly Heron's.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are an ok place to meander and catch a few shots. Some from the other day. . Not everyone's cup of tea but one look I quite enjoy this look.
Owyhee a great pic, what a superb subject, the sort of subject that has never ending possibilities to capture different pics from. I don't know what side the sun rises from, I can imagine a morning sun rise or set would work wonders as well as what you have here.
Nice one.
Well, it was an eventful day in my house, as my son Xander was born this morning. Stressful, but good.
Started off a little scary...a fast and relatively good delivery, though when he came out, he had a huge amount of fluid in his lungs, and had trouble breathing and getting oxygen. They quickly stabilized him in the delivery room, but then brought him to the NICU for further treatment. This was a little nervewracking. He responded well, and for a while, they had him hooked up to a CPAP machine to give his lungs a little extra pressure.
After a while, in the early afternoon, they took him off the CPAP, and he continued to look strong. When we came to see him, he still had a little tube to his stomach, but this came out shortly after we got there:
And, though he still has his IV...his breathing had settled enough and all the fluid was out, so that he could feed...before we did, he was looking up at his mom and dad: http://www.jordansteele.com/2013/xander6.jpg
When we returned in the early evening, he was sleeping peacefully (for those who are wondering, he's on his stomach here because in the NICU, they will do that for certain things to make it easier on the child...with the monitors and the type of heated bassinet, it's not a danger...but not a good idea at home). So far, he's doing great..will probably be taken out of the NICU tomorrow morning and moved up to the regular nursery with us, barring a setback, but all signs point to him doing very well. Now sleep is needed for dad...as I've been up since 2AM.
Conrats Jordan! I am glad it turned out well, and what a beautiful baby! We had the same problem when my first grandson was born - fluid in his lungs, which apparently is not an uncommon problem. They did keep him in IC for several days and he couldn't leave the hospital until about a week later. The little rascal is now 7 months old!
