Try Viveza. It's about the only Nik tool that I use. Great for localized correction, and the Structure slider is good for boosting clarity and detail.

Bobby thanks, I downloaded the Google Nik software for a trial. Mostly interested in the Silver efex pro. I tried the Colour Efex on this one, for which I was more impressed with than the Silver Eex. .Nothing that could be not be done in Cs6, but probably a bit quicker to the results and only subtly different from what I had achieved in Cs6.
The silve Efex I was not so enamored by, as what it appears to do is, not different than what can be done in Cs6 but by using a different route and terminology . I am sure someone could expand on Nik's differences only having had a few days with it and the trial only lasts 14days or so.
Having said that I would get the set if I could get a hard copy rather than the download.(old fashioned) ...Show more →
My favorite subject recently -- my Granddaughter The OM-D E-M5 gives me the best dynamic range I have ever worked with. The Oly 75mm and the Pany 25mm are both incredible lenses.
I just have to day that there's some inspiring photos in this thread! Keep it up. Still lovin' my E-M5 with all the little silver primes too - just nothing inspiring me lately.

The major, overarching advantage to using Nik are their control points, which are basically "smart masks". You can do some very interesting things when you start utilizing them.
Also, Nik filters take practice and a lot of times, you'll want to use them in conjunction with regular CS masking or layer opacity changes (don't use Nik's own masking, the interface sucks)
Silver Efex -- Basically really good for making nice presets or playing with color channel sensitivities in addition to pretty fast (and efficient) toning of the image, etc.
It's not like one couldn't do this in PS, but it's a hell of a lot faster in Silver Efex. Also, the "structure" tool is pretty nice, though it's also found in Vivezia.
An example of what I'm talking about:
Color Efex has a filter called "Sunlight" which can be hard to use at times, though it can gives some good results with practice. It's almost like a combined tonal contrast (another Color Efex filter that takes practice) and glamour glow combined with a temperature modification, etc. Anyway, a global filter was too much and changed the image in a way I didn't want.
On this image (Pany GX1 with Minolta 35-70) I used a control point to apply the effect just to the hydrant. Sure, I could have used a PS mask for the effect, but it's much quicker to use the control point in Nik. This effect was different than JUST using Tonal Contrast, as it adds a bit of lighty-depth that Tonal doesn't.
Here's another shot from the same outing - Sorry this isn't OMD (traded mine a while back) but I love the bokeh of the Minolta 35-70 too much to just let it sit in my flickr
Yes. Tap on the LCD screen to bring up the focus box. On the right side of the screen you should see a magnification slider that you can move up (to reduce the box size) or down to change the size of the focus box.

is there anyway to make the focus box smaller on omd?
I have been looking at these OMD pics, and without a doubt they are among the best I have seen. I have been looking for a mirrorless camera and have looked into the Sony, Fuji, Panasonic etc, but the quality of these images has sold me on OMD. Hope to have one soon and to post some of my pics here!

Great work! Great tool!
Rex , what I found with the OM-D, it it is fun to use, which in turn helps the picture making process.

Juju very well said. The fun factor of the OMD and the m43 lenses has made me take more photographs which in turn has improved my photograph and resulted in better images.
Just purchased one this weekend. A black one with the 12-50 kit lens. Can't wait for it to come! Should be delivered to me on Tuesday. Now I need to buy a couple Minolta to mu4/3 adapters and I'm good to go!
