Hmm, what could this be?...I seem to remember a similar thread last year...time to resurrect it this year...of course this time I can participate as its my first black bird with red on its wings...I feel like I just joined a club with lots of old friends

Yes my friend luscious blacks as our friend Karl would say. You nailed the exposures, any more the whites and reds would blow and less the blacks would block. Somebody was paying attention Oh my looky this manual exp nice work Eric!

Of course you know it would have been impossible (or just lucky if I pulled it off) if I didn't take your advice and go manual....its been a learning curve and I miss quite a few first shots since I forget that it's in manual and not AV mode and then have to compensate like crazy. I'm glad the teacher approves, I like getting stars on my reports
