Has anyone found a decent remote shutter release for the D800? I've looked around and it seems the only options are a handful of generic ones that may or may not work with it, or the overpriced (and low rated) Nikon ones (MC-30 or the MC-36) I could care less if it has a built in timer or not as I'm used to using releases with no timers. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated
Similar to the Stratos mentioned above, my Cactus V5s work great as remote releases, including support for Bulb mode. You do need a special miniplug to 10-pin cable which costs $10 with the triggers.
Thanks for all of your input. I went ahead and ordered a knockoff of the MC-36 since it was so cheap. If it doesn't work I'll likely go with one of the flash trigger type.
Update on this knockoff shutter release. It works great, exact same features as the Nikon MC-36 but it only costs $15.00, shipped from China. And yes the MC-36 is also made in China possibly by the same factory that produced the knockoff.
