Yes, perfectly fine, as the sync voltage of the 45CL4 is perfectly safe.
You will need the Metz 3102 module to use the 45CL4 with any camera dedication functions (e.g. turning on flash shifts camera to X-sync shutter speed; in-viewfinder flash ready light) but the 45CL4 is NOT capable of any ETTL automation functions because it does not support pre-flash (unless you have the newer model '45CL4 Digital')
