I just picked up 5 LP-E6 batteries for my 5D Mark II and was just wondering what others do with all the extra batteries in your bag? Is there some kind of case that has worked well to store them? I would rather then all not to rattle around in a pocket in my camera bag.
I use baby socks. One sock takes a pair of batts with no probs. Just stick in the batteries, give the sock a twist, fold over the top and roll it back. Just like putting away the laundry, but with a pair of batts inside the sock.
One pair of socks equals four batts. You could splurge and buy two pairs of baby socks...
I just use the plastic snap on cover that comes with the battery, and then put a rubber band around the whole thing. That keeps the cover on, and it also provides a little bit of a cushion for when they are kicking around. The batteries are basically very durable items, so the contact protection is all I feel I need.
That is a very large number of LP-E6 batteries for one 5DII. I find I get a lot of life out of real Canon LP-E6 batteries, so I am wondering what uses for your camera your have that need that many, or perhaps how many days of shooting you expect that will be for your usage.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm really just like "Angry" and paranoid that I may run out of power when I was not able to charge them and now that I can do video, I figured that will take up a lot of power.
The Thinktank product is nice, I may try the sock idea first.
I put them in a double zip freezer style ziplock bag. Keeps them away from moisture, and keeps them all in one place. I am like you...don't want to run out of battery.
