I still don't get it. Exactly, how do PayPal scammers get away with getting your shipment and then getting their money back? What is the flaw in PayPal that lets this happen? This scam is still going on because when I run Craigslist ads I still get those inquiries asking for my PayPal info, it is for a friend and they are out of town.
Whenever I do Craigslist, I specify face to face cash only near where I live. Chicago is a large enough market you don't need to worry about shipping and thus don't worry about paypal.
Yes they know. However, they are hit-and-run type frauds that are difficult to control from their end. You just HAVE to do face-to-face with Craigslist, IMHO. I set up meets and sales at a local coffee shop and haven't been burned yet.
Yes. I meet in person too but the bombardment of the scammers thru emails and text messages prove they exist and prosper. Get out of PayPal. They have their act to clean up.
