That looks like a beautifully designed grip. I actually don't find the camera all that slippery but given its $650 spending another $34 to make sure I've always got a solid grip on it (plus wrist strap) seems a wise move.
I got my RX 100 yesterday. It's a great little camera and smaller than my LX 5. I really like the fact that I don't have to deal with a lens cap like on my LX 5.
The manual is, shall we say, very weak and you pretty much have to figure everything out for yourself.
Do any of you guys who have the camera know how to magnify an image in playback mode? I can't figure that out.

Just use the zoom buttons/switches for magnifying an image in playback mode.
By the way there is a more detailed manual in HTML on the Sony website.
Since the printed manual is really very weak probably more people are looking for some additional information. Here is a link to the HTML online user guide, which is much better: http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4432943111/EN/index.html
And forget about the online PDF manuals. They are not better than the printed ones.

If you can remove the pickup truck, that looks like real art.
Couldn't get the timing right for all the elements to fall into place, since I took this while on the elliptical trainer at my gym. This is why I like the RX 100. Always with you:
Just got the RX100, and gotta say, it's the best pocketable cam out there right now. I'm lovin the speed on this thing, compared to LX5 and S90/100 I used to have. Tiltable flash is pure genius. I initially balked at the price, but after using it, well worth the money.
I've said this before, but every picture that I'm in is usually taken by my wife with an iPhone, so I may buy one of these to give to my wife, so that I actually have some reasonably high quality pics...of myself!
