True enough, but if you didn't buy it then you'd spend that extra week of holiday at the p reading reviews and such about the camera.
Once a camera finally comes, then there is nothing left to really do but go out and shoot it, which to some people is almost as fun as talking about the next new camera on an internet forum

I usually got the coolest shots from any camera the first time I used it...
Thats because getting a new camera/lens is when you go try new things and experiment, after a while we fall back into our "comfort zone" of shooting our regular style and discontinue experimenting and trying new things.
Some great shots Thrice, love the tonality on the b/w captures. Nice use of the watercolor mode as well
Say what some will about the "useless" art filters like watercolor, but I think few if any RX100 owners can resist occasionally giving it a try on a few images just to see how it looks. And again, since you can apply watercolor or illustration to any shot after the fact, its not like your limiting yourself to the effect as well.
I've such tried doing the watercolor effect both with CS6 and also my Snap Art plug-in and while both certainly can achieve nice results, I've got to admit there is just something special about the algorithm Sony is using because to my eye, it just nails the way I think a watercolor should look. Perfect blend of detail and lack of detail, brush strokes etc.
I don't paint, and maybe a real artist might think it looks like total crap, but I can spend 5-10 minutes messing around in Snap Art trying to get a finished product that looks right to my eye and 9 times out of 10 I'm preferring the 1 click is what you get RX100 output.
Good stuff Thrice. I see you are playing with the paint effect too. Fun hu?
BTW, I just shot with it today with some Power2000 batteries I got, and they work better than the originals. Got a two pack with external charger for $40.00 from Amazon.
Mine is in my hands. Its a very, very nicely built body, only shot a sunset with it tonight after work, looking forward to some more "real" shooing with it over the weekend.
