Anyone having problems achieving HSS and af-assist with 5D3 + Flex/Mini system?
When flash is mounted on top of flex/mini (which is mounted on top of 5d3)
- can't access flash c.fn menu system
- have access to regular flash function settings but is set to Manual (instead of ETTL) and HSS (but it doesn't fire at HSS speeds)
- AF-assist beam won't fire
- HSS doesn't work, it kicks shutter speed back to 1/200
Everything works with flash directly on 5d3's hotshoe mount so it is a PW Flex/Mini compatibility issue.
Do the Phottix Odin/Stratos work flawlessly (with HSS) on your 5d3?

My hold back on getting the Odin is that it eliminates my ability to shoot with a flash on the camera. I sometimes use a mounted flash for the focus assist beam. As far as I know there is no way to use the Odin with a pc cable is there?
Okay, I bought a Strato II kit just to figure out their compatibility with the Calumets. The Calumets, it turns out, are rebranded original Stratos. The Strato II trigger will apparently fire Calumet receivers, but the Calumet trigger will not (reliably) fire a Stratto II receiver.
PWs for me, however, I am usually powering a pack and head system with them. I use them with 580s once in a great while. They have been flawless for me.
I vouch for YongNuo RF-602s. Range is excellent, goes through walls, you can attach them to cameras to trigger the camera, you can trigger a LOT of flashes all at once throughout an entire venue, and they are CHEAP. I also recently dumped my Canon flash for YongNuo Flashes since they are also cheap, close to disposable, decently powerful, easy to use, and generally awesome for strobists.
Edit: Almost forgot, they also are cross system so they work on Nikon and Canon.
I use Radio Popper PX and JRx Studio. I have a question for anyone triggering with a JRx while using the PX receiver to fire 580s. I have a sync problem with this combination. If I use anything faster than 125th/sec, the frame is partially blocked as if my shutter speed is too fast. It works fine with cubes or from a PX transmitter. Any help would be appreciated!
I assume you have it in the correct modes for the PX and JRx to talk to each other? I don't know the details - just remember skimming over something mentioning feedback/channel settings when watching some of the videos.
I also shoot with RadioPoppers (PX). The ability to control my flash output from camera is _really_ handy after I've put a light somewhere that's inconvenient to get to again. Works great with my D700 popup flash and D3S + SU800.
Is this what you guys are using.. Im having a horrible time with my PW.. I am so unsure of what to get..the reviews of these things is amazing..and the price is even crazier..
