Usually any good pack will have compression straps on the side...use them, not hard.

yes there are many ways to strap a tripod to a pack. and they're all relatively easy depending on the pack of course and the tripod you have in mind.

^^ not sure if you need the pouch for the feet when the pack on your back.
I usually strap it down to the side of my daypack.
