I read it, and it didn't seem too profane (perhaps a generation thing). I couldn't care less if he uses swear words, but I would've liked more articulated points.

I agree with that. Profanity in today's culture is normal. Just go to the movies. Read contemporary books. A quote from Joe Biden when President Obama signed the Health Care legislation into law was, "This is a big f&$#ing deal".
Personally......it doesn't bother me. In fact I enjoy it.
During the time I was being told by one of my agencies “you better get a Canon and start using one if you want access to the lens pool: We’re switching in a couple months”

know it sounds like heresy coming from me but … ciao-ciao Zeiss ZE manual focus primes. Yes, they’re nice but they tended to have lateral fringing when shooting backlit subject matter.

In fact, the 5D Mark III is kinda how D3S users feel about the D4 if they already owned the 5D Mark II. Ciao Canon.

A few weeks ago I had a couple friends over. One is a staffer from a Canon-shop and the other from a Nikon-shop. It was hilarious seeing the Canon guy's face when TTL flash exposure after TTL flash exposure on the Nikon D4 was absolutely perfect.
“Think you Mark-fucking-Four can do that, man!?”
He shook his head and the Nikon-shop shooting friend said, “We’re all getting those in a couple weeks.” Should be interesting to see the stills come out of the Olympics in London soon. Canon should have released their 1D-X’s long before that event but … no … just a delay....Show more →

Didn't manage to read the complete article.....lost my interest during the first paragraph already.
God dammit! I read all the comments here about how its laced with profanity and terrible writing, but geez, nothing could prepare me for how terrible his writing is. It took me 10 minutes to get through the first paragraph!

HAHA. I read this whole thread, and yet I haven't opened the link. Here goes nothing..

Wow, you guys were not kidding. Sometimes people exaggerate, but everyone who said the article was not articulated very well - were not lying! This is like reading old english, except it isn't proper.
I don't doubt his work is good - but at least have someone write this for you.
Too immature in his thinking for mature adults to wade through.
Read most of it, didn't find a single point of his own making....just a regurgitated assembly of common sense facts the internet community already knows about both systems.
And then just throw in a bunch of swearing to further dilute the appeal.
Whatever he buys, I hope he enjoys it and it serves him well, as all of us photographers have that in common, wanting the tools that aid us best in making and finding imagery that we want to record/capture/produce. So I hope he's happy with his switch, I'm switching as well, but I care enough about others to make my communication in a style that serves their desire to hear mature perspectives and factual information in an order that helps them wade through their own thinking.
Thanks for posting though, you were probably trying to share what you thought was interesting. Thankfully, this community appreciates a higher standard.
Does anyone really care what kind of gear other random photographers use? Maybe if you are about 16 years old it might make a difference but do grown ups care?
Wow... Nikon or Canon, that's really edgy out of the box thinking!
Well, I've lived in Los Angeles on and off since the '90s, and to make a generalization, L.A. and in particular quite a few people in the creative fields that rule the cultural roost here *sound* quite stupid. However in actuality, beyond the trailing off into pauses, pronounced profanity, vowel elongation, silly rising terminals, canned phraseology, filler words, fluff, super-hyper-megaexaggerrrrations, dude/dawg/bro/homie-speech, and perennial use of, like, the word "like" they are quite intelligent.
Yet I feel in that milieu there's more social currency to sounding legit/ace/dope/rad/fresh/tight/hot/sick, than employing speech in other means.
Much of the creative calling here is a popularity contest after all. And to show that they mean it, it seems that the easiest way to demonstrate emotion and prove to others that they have real convictions, is to be profane or base.
I wish it wasn't so, but I as well am a very profane person in relaxed settings with friends or good colleagues. But publicly....
