Hey guys. Noob question. I just purchased a Rotatrim M24 and I noticed that amazon has the Rotatrim and self-healing mat listed as frequently bought together. I tried to do a search and the only thing I found was someone hand cutting something on these self-healing mats.
I'm confused, is a self-healing mat a good accessory for my rotatrim? Is 36LX24L the right/correct size for my Rotatrim that measures less than that?
no need for a cutting mat as it applies to a Rotatrim.
not sure what you mean by 'right size'. The M24 (which I have) has 24" rails and about, oh, I'd say 12-15" bed depth. It's long and narrow as the picture must show. It'll fit a 24" piece of paper (obviously)
Howard is right - the self-healing mats don't help you. For $300 you shouldn't need any accessories, right? The M24 is a great trimmer. Just got one recently myself.

Actually self-healing mats are very helpful and great to use for other work trimming, framing work, etc. and help to extend the life of your blades--but have absolutely nothing to do with using a Rototrim.
Damn that's evil! Amazon is usually pretty good in terms of frequently bought together stuff. Anyhow, thanks guys. I was wondering what was up with that self-healing mat vis a vis the Rotatrim.
Cutting mat has nothing to do with your trimmer, as everyone has said. But, in case your workload demands it in the future, the Speedpress rhino mat has been very helpful to us:
