Grant, I wouldn't go for the 400 AF-I that is on the B/S board right now, figure thats at least a 15-20 year old lens as that was the first built in motor lens for nikon, which was 4 revisions ago. If anything look for an AF-S II or VR1.

hey geoffrey,

thanks for the advice. i think you are right.

i sold my canon 400 and picked up a nikon 400 af-s II from adorama.

all in all, i came out $50 ahead in my transaction.
