Looks nice but it only gives you a 28mm equiv so really not all that much wider than 35mm.
I'd personally rather they made it into a 24mm or ideally 21mm equiv. That would make more sense to me if your going to carry the conversion lens around as well. Not like anyone really goes out with a 28 and 35mm at the same time do they ?
Also interesting is that there appears they will have a new FW that adds the wider frame lines to show the 28mm equiv fov (though only at 80% coverage)
As a X100 user and early adopter, I think it's great to see Fuji is still supporting the X100 even though they have a new product (X1-pro).
I will not buy it, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who prefer to shoot wider than 35mm equiv. on a constant basis, so this makes the X100 a good option for them now.
I wish they make a 50mm equiv. conversion lens and still f/2. I would order one right away and I think that would make the X100 line a option for a greater number of photographers who prefer a "normal" fov. We just have to remember how many comments there where about "if only it had a 50mm equiv. lens..." when the X100 was announced.
I tried probably 10 different teleconversion lens and none of them really worked that well. I think its just not really possible to make a good quality tele conversion lens that goes onto what is a 24mm wide angle of the X100. Tele conversion lens can work well on longer focal lengths but always suffer vingetting and/or soft corners at wider focal lengths.
I broke down and bought a XPro so now I've got my 50mm equiv

You cannot get F2 with a tele converter if the base lens has F2, because while the focal length increases, the aperture remains the same physical size...

That is not entirely true as it depends on the size of the exit pupil of the tele conversion lens. There are some, such as this 1.5x that show no light lose nor visible vignetting, though sadly it still is plagued by soft corners (and the sheer size)
