Went out in the middle of nowhere in southern WI to do an engagement shoot with Patrick and Taylor. They're into restoring antiques, he's a mechanic, and they wanted to do things that were a bit different for this shoot. Before we started, I spent half an hour checking out the small town and found an abandoned auto mechanic garage with a vintage Chevy sitting in it, a boat just sitting in this rocky area, an abandoned building with the glass broken out of the windows, but the panes still in place. Perfect locations for this couple!
Pretty good set. I would try to light them up a little in #4. I would also get rid of #6 completely. The weeds and the dirty looking pond doesn’t do it for me. Other than that, freakin tack sharp and great color!
Good job man. Have to say your work have improved lately. 1&8&9 are my favs. in 2 her cheek doesn't look flattering. Dig 3&4 also. Cool set. Can I buy that Chevy
Ditto on the constant improvement. And it blows me away you can just take a half hour to do some location research and come up with a find like that garage! I'll counter what MJ says above... I like #6 and would leave it in. Especially since it's your one wide shot... it gives the set some needed variety.
Thanks, guys. Any improvement is due largely to posting in here and reading the critiques.
I get what you're saying about the cheek. I'll be happy to broker the deal for you to buy the Chevy, but the transport costs to Poland are going to kill you.
Mitch, this is a really small, old town in the middle of nowhere. Lots of art galleries, thus the old red telephone booth. I just couldn't believe my luck in finding places/things to shoot in this town.
Jealous of your locations. 6 doesn't flatter her in the least.
I always advise against logo'd clothing. SCREAMS "look at me" He went from Mariners to Old Navy. Mistake. You should handle this on the front end.
"But thats just him. Thats they why he is. Should we challenge who they really are?"
Its an engagement session. They'll never do another EVER again, (well, not supposed to anyway). I tell em it the one time you need to step it up a bit. Take it seriously. Most do. Send em cothign some inspiration.
