No, we went back at Puerto Yungay due to our very limited amount of time and our plans to also visit Caleta Tortel, the Valle Exploradores and the Pumalin NP.
At the northern end we returned at Caleta Gonzalo. Most people we met on our trip were rather spending several month there and not only 10 days. A lot of them even with their own car/truck(which they had shipped from Europe).
Ten days is indeed a very limited time, but you tackled a substantial part of the Carretera Austral. Take a month next time, the country has a lot to offer. Some 15% of my entire photo collection is from Chile. And then there is Argentina as well ...

First, thanks to all of you for your heartwarming comments!
Second, nice tweak, Andrew! What exactly did you do, so that I can evolve from primate to human being in PP ? As a matter of fact, I processed the Canon shots with DPP, and this may be the end of the road for it. But my LR 4 cannot read 5D III shots yet, for some reason.

Thanks ken.vs.ryu, Carolyn, Gary, magiclight, Snopchenko, Wilhelm and Peire.
On the second day we went from Caleta Tortel via Puerto Yungay to Cochrane.

This is a wonderful thread.
Bobu - your prowess with that M9 and Leica lenses makes me want them!
Philber - That last shot of the Venice of the South is my favourite of yours from that location. What are your (early) impressions of the 5D3 over the 5D2? BTW, I'm also a great fan of the Makro-Elmarit 60 on my Nex5N, and on my 1D3.
It's also nice to see some more shots of the southern hemisphere autumn, something that's also happening here of course!

As you can see, Boris started to show his true colours. The man is a real, harcore fetishist for cascades and waterfalls. We must have shot 60 in total. And endlessly discussed the differences between what is a waterfall and what is a cascade, a strange concept for a German, to who everything is a Wasserfall. And that was before I introduced the word cataract....
He also steadfastly refused to let me share with you a tremendous discovery, that of the Patagonian elephant. I have pictures to prove it, but Boris was so intent on shooting ever more cascades (or waterfalls?) that he would let nothing, not even such a discovery, stand in his way onwards to cascade greatness...

Thanks Boris, lenticular!
Regarding gear, I think Boris' approach to leave that for after showing the pictures is the right on. That way we won't have mutliple sub-threads criss-crossing each other. But I am sure you are not the only one to be interested in your question, lenticular.

Pardon - I should have recalled that was the approach to be taken...will await eventual comments. Merci !
