RobertLynn: I must try your blender mix. Don't ask PetKal anything. Canadian brains are frozen solid - all year round - trust me. Look at his problems with reading comprehension. However he can fluently articulate emotions with: Eh, Ey and 1Dx.
No offense taken, Zyberk......we shall talk to you again sometime next year.

WTF does the Olympics have to do with that camera? There is nothing in the literature about the 1D-X being a special model commemorating that event and it does not have any thematic emblems or logos.
I think that must be a record. 2002 and 13 posts, and looking at the post history they were all within the last 2 weeks which is strange. Guy must have just unthawed from cryogenic feezing up in Canada and decide to post without letting his brain unthaw fully (and he is right it is cold at least where I live)

Let me point out that "Newfie" is specifically Canadian term of endearment applied to, um, people whose talents lie somewhere other than the mental sphere :-D

Oh...I thought it was some perversion of "newbie".
As we are now being made aware of additional delays in the release of the Canon 1DX it appears the pro-body will not be available for the Olympics this Summer. I propose that their marketing team should have developed a new naming convention for the pro-body whereby "X" stands for "eXpired"!
I believe I have a solution to this dilemma and I would like your feedback. I have decided to disguise my recently acquired APS-C Canon G1X pro-sumer zoom to approximate a full frame 1DX body. In order to do this, I plan on covering the "G" letter on the nameplate before I interact with other professional photographers. If for some reason I do not have my shot settings correct or I inadvertently leave the lens cap on, my exposure will surely be ruined regardless of what Canon camera I use.
The best part about this is that my G1X has an Auto mode which will meter the scene, set appropriate f-stop and shutter speed, and generally produce acceptable images with little input on my end. Great stuff!
I look forward to meeting everyone at the Olympics this Summer! ...Show more →
Robert -- Imagine all the wonderful characterizations of Scots in all the wonderful Monty Python episodes, and take all those odd characters and place them in the middle of a primitive wilderness (like Newfoundland, for example) to do their unusual antics and captive breeding programs without interference.
A wave of the magic wand, . . . and . . . Newfies!!

Since Canon screwed up big time with the 1Dx (x stands for expired) will not be available for the Olympics.
So, I decided to cover the "G" letter on the nameplate before I mix with the crowd of the Pros.
I only have to remember to remove that pesky lens cup before shooting, Otherwise I'll have to deal with terrible banding. The rest is easy. I just discovered the G1X "auto-everything" idiot mode, which was engineered especially for critical shooters. Great stuff!
See ya - at the O : -)))
Yeah. Shabaaam! Goobers ate my onions. See ya. At the P ;-) Pesky Pensky onions no doubt. X stands for ten. G plate on the name letter. Dude.
