So, my company (www.HufaHolder.com) is now set up for some growth.

We have 3 products in the pipeline in addition to the hüfa lens cap clip that are on the verge of being released.

My question is: What accessory do you crave that doesn't exist? or What accessory is *almost* perfect but needs some modifications to be perfect?

I will be giving out free hüfa lens cap clips to the innovative ideas that are presented here.

thanks and get those brain juices flowing!

OK, I've got one you...How about a high quality, detachable neck strap that slides easily. Most all straps are designed to be non-slip for when you sling it over one shoulder. However, I like to carry my camera with a strap slung over the opposte shoulder and across my chest & back. The ploblem is when I go to lift the camera, the strap has to be able to slide smoothly over my shoulder and back...most straps are designed not to do that! The best I've used so far is the Optech Utility Strap. It's similar to their popular neck straps but uses a different material that slides better. The Optech Utility is OK, but not perfect...work on that, will ya!

I really wish Canon's had Nikon strap lugs. I hate having to thread a strap on my Canon. When I had a Nikon I could just slide the ring on the lugs depending on if I wanted to have a strap or not.

I do remember seeing a strap made from the same webbing as car seat belts, but I can't recall the site.

Now you're talking. That would be good.

You could probably get one from the Seatbelt Bag people (http://www.seatbeltbags.com/caadst.html), but perhaps the OP could redesign the clasp to make it more camera friendly....

How about an over the shoulder strap system for fat guys!

We own two different ones (Optech and Black Rapid) and neither one are adjustable. If I could just add a few inches to either strap it would be perfect.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having sizing difficulty. Go to the Photipherals site and look at the
Pho-Reel. If that doesn’t meet the adjustable level you require, send an email. It’s high probability you will get one that does.

I would like to see a nice padded, slightly waterproof hardcase for my portable hard drive. It would be great if you could use it with the case on. I think if there were small rubber plugs that plugged into the USB/firewire ports it would help with waterproofing.

What about a strap that is convertable from neck strap to handstrap with loop for hand strap attached to one camera lug and the other strap that completes the shoulder strap being detachable at the camera lug.

So many things, so little time:

1) A quality photography oriented lightly padded sub-1lb FULLY COLLAPSIBLE backpack that will carry 1body + 2 lenses and a small tripod. I would put all my photogear inside, then stuff inside a real backpack when I go packing. Leave the large pack at base camp, then take daytrips with the small one. Does not need to have robust waist strap, but shoulder straps need to be reasonable. Can't have frame or hard plastic inside. I currently use a Jansport Kathadin 20 for that purpose, close enough but not quite right. Oh, and don't charge $100 just because it says "photo" on it

2) Reasonable angle finder. Currently there are two varieties: rectangular mount that falls off when you tilt the camera the wrong way, or screw-in that takes forever to insert and remove. I can't believe that Nikon charges $200 for a DR-6 and has not figured out how to keep it in place with some type of reasonable spring loading.

3) A photo-oriented waist pack: no padding, lots of dividers. Kinesis makes some but wants my first unborn for them. I currently use REI Lode and it is close enough for under $20. I would use something like this to keep all my filters, rings, level, etc. in my backpack. When I setup to shoot I take this out and strap it around my waist so it moves with me.

4) Cloth pouches for 4x6 filters - who the hell needs overpadded hard wallets? Lee sells a velvet one that is close enough and not fiendishly expensive ($5) but for some reason made it too shallow. A bit deeper with a velcro closing on top to keep dirt out and you have a winner.

5) Clever system to stack filters. Wallets are useless, filter stacks are clumsy. Some type of a plastic "rail" that you can slide filters in/out without needing 3 hands. Minimal inter-filter spacing.

Plug protectors. HDMI, GPS, Mic, USB, etc cables are extremely fragile when plugged in to the side of a camera, and if you bump the plug the wrong way, you'll either damage the plug or the camera itself. I know one's coming out for the 5DmkII and eventually the 7D, but yeah, there are a ton of other cameras out there (especially Nikon! ) that could use protection.

Maybe a universal (well, based on filter sizes, or with adapters for filter sizes) adjustable petal lens hood. Better than the round original hoods that came with older lenses. The top/bottom and left/right petals can adjust forward and back independently of each other and the mount, so they can shade any lens perfectly. Either that, or adapters to use more common hoods on other lenses.

Let me get this straight. You want an idea for a product that doesn't exist, then you will produce it and make money off of it (maybe in the thousands), and in return the intellectual owner of the idea/s will get some free lens cap clips?

Let me PM you my ideas. I don't want anyone to get my free caps!

Camera pouch with changeable lens pouches.
Pouches for camera available in the market have a fixed length for lens. Such design doesn't make sense for LENS-CHANGEABLE camera, DSLR or EVIL. My idea addresses this issue.
We need a pouch for the camera body and several puches for lens, one for each. The pouches of camera and lens are attached by buttons, and they together make a complete pouch that holds the camera body and the lens. When detached, the lens' part is a complete pouch for the lens. The lens pouches should have sort of clip system to hang on the waist belt. Such a system would provide good protection and accessibility to the gears.
