Here are a couple with the Canon New FD 85mm F1.2 wide open on there Sony A7r; I used one of those Raynox huge heavy multi element diopters as well to get closer, so we have in effect an F1.2 macro lens: less than 1 mm DOF!
First is a couple of Australian proteaciae: these ae Telopea speciosissima, the state flower of NSW (warratahs)
I just got the Canon FD 85mm f/1.2L along with the MetaBones Speed Booster for Canon FD to Fuji X and wanted to do a comparison shot on my X-T1. The XF56mm is sharper and has more contrast with quick AF to boot. The 85L has noticeably smoother and more pleasing bokeh. The framing is a little bit tighter on the 85L because with the Speed Booster it's closer to a 90mm field of view. Pardon the highly unpredictable expressions and poses of my son

Might be interesting to compare these with the Canon FD set to about f2 - which would be the equivalent on your format of the Fuji at F2.2.
Then you could be able to tell if the difference in Bokeh is down to the difference in effective aperture or other optical qualities.
(56 1.2 effective aperture is 112mm f2; the canon with speed booster on APSC is close to its rated 85mm f1.2 equivalent)
agreed, except the 56/1.2 is an effective 85/1.8 not 112/2.
