Results from using Spot Metering on the flower, and a much brighter surrounding background around the subject... and a somewhat wide aperture…all natural light, no flash.
You kind of got to get it just right to get the effect.
I shot it yesterday to illustrate a PP technique for enhancing detail in yellow flowers in the Critique forum. It involves making RGB and Lab copies of the image then applying the Green channel (with Levels enhanced contrast) to the L channel of the Lab copy which is then converted back to RGB and blended back into the original RGB at 70% opacity.

The apply image trick will work for any color where most of the tonal gradation is carried in only one of the RGB channels. In a red object the R channel will be mostly maxed out everywhere with the shading created by the G and B channels. So you'd apply G or B from the RGB copy of the file to the L channel.
