Gosh...just beautiful....Such talent on the The Fred site....I just keep looking and learning!
This is from my backyard...a 4 year old Bearded Iris clump...hard place to grab a nice all around in focus shot? Kind of busy...yet hard work to achieve this amount of healthy bloom habit with these bulbs...

You are lucky I'm not around to take the 5DIII from your hands...

Here are some spring flower images captured on the Canon 5D3 with Canon 100 Macro lens, all shots were hand-held and with a slight breeze. Nothing better than trying to shoot macros with a light breeze! All made possible with the great focusing and high iso shooting capabilities of this camera.

well....maybe I will loan it .... After flower season!!!
FWIW-Love the camera over and over again. Seems folks want to find fault with this amazing camera..I have never Liked Jpegs out of camera! I have shot all raw for years...awh when need to post fast, jpegs are nice..still use raw for most.
I love the focus system in camera as well...and all my flower shots are manual focus...NO problem. On the 5DII I did have the focus "S" screen...the one in new camera is just fine. The grid is a push of a button in settings...Can't beat that!
I LOVE IT...thank you, Canon. This will be my last camera purchase for awhile now. Could have waited for little price drop, maybe...yet the resale on used goes down too? ...Show more →

Doc...what kind of flower is that?
Great shots everyone!!!!!
Not good with flower names, sorry. Shot was taken along the cultivated garden paths at UNC Asheville so it is some plant that grows in the mountains of NC. Not sure if it is native to the area though.

Thank you, Jer.
It was my very first time stacking images. I shot them in raw, on a tripod. I put all six photos in ACR process them exactly the same. Then back into bridge, opened all layers in Photoshop(cs5) finish them there. At the very end I converted to JPEG.
The first iris took six shots, the second Iris only three.
I also used manual focus.
Hope that helps you!
Very nice photo as well. Love the detail
