My only question is: where they heck can you buy one of these (silver)? They are back-ordered everywhere.
I suggest Olympus hire back some of the 2700 people they are reportedly laying off and ramp up production a bit.
And then after the initial demand is meet lay them off again ??
Cost a lot of money many times to increase production and a product like this is not going to have long term demand. In 6 months its going to be in stock everywhere and a lot of early adapters are going to be selling them for the GH3 or whatever the next big thing is.
You've got to balance trying to make as many cameras as you can to capitalize on sales when its a hot item, but do so in a manner that won't result in diminishing returns.
What good does it do if Oly can sell more units but end up actually making them less profit. The equilibrium point where revenue is maximized is where a business wants to operate.
Of course plenty of photogs simply don't care about that and just want their flippin' camera they've been waiting months for, and you can't blame someone for worrying only about their best interest, but you've got to respect Oly for trying to do whats in their best interest as well, and that is make money.

Chill. My last statement was intended to be tongue-in-cheek.
If you have a suggestion about where I can buy one, I'd appreciate it.
Last week amazon had the silver body with 12-50 in sale for 3 or 4 days; haven't checked recently so unsure if they still have em. My local store called me thursday saying they had received a couple of silver bodies (I had inquired 10 days ago). The same day the place I had mailed ordered one also indicated they had received a shipment and put one in the mail for me (remains to be seen as I don't have it in my hands yet).

So they are trickling in. Both places (the local store and place I mailed order) indicate they receive quite a few each week; problem is that most of them go to fill back order.
Probably should have taken the one at the local store; but the mail order place I had changed my order twice and felt kind of guilty about calling a third time to cancel.

Thanks for sharing this piece of info, Jordan. Has anyone tried using their Canon EOS/EF lenses on the OM-D? Just wondering how lenses like the EF 85L, 100L and 300/4L will work on the OM-D.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you cannot control the aperture on EF lenses. You would have to shoot wide open all the time which is why I haven't tried it with my EOS lenses. Although I might be willing to give it a shot with my 70-200 IS II.
That may explain why there are several EOS-to-M43 adaptors with a built-in aperture ring.
The cheap EOS/EF adaptors doesn't look very good, although they do work, but for approx $10 one can't really bitch about it. I am tempted to give the adaptor with the built-in aperture a try because of this - and they are generally better built. If it doesn't really work (too much vignetting, etc) I can always return it for a refund.

You can't change the aperture when mounted on a m43 adapter, but you can preset it to something other than wide open if you have an EOS body. Mount the lens on your EOS body, set the aperture you want, hold down the DOF preview button and remove the lens. The aperture will stay set.
It's kind of ridiculous to be doing that ... but good to know it's at least doable. I guess it would make more sense to just use your EF lenses wide open ... if you really must use your EF lenses.
