I'm in for a separate thread. With the chance of local guidance and another chance to meet some of you skilled people would be a life long lasting experience. I will have to bring my 9-yearold son with me so I cant carry the front flag, but will do all to be part of such a travel.
Flying is not my thing anymore, a former career took me around the globe and I got fed up with airports/hotels/timezones but this would be a chance to regain the joy of travel, and in this case solely for the hobby!
I'm kind of free in my work, so for me any time during 2013 would work.

I'd say it's about 50% getting the right weather and don't know the chances of the aurora activity, its different between years.
In 2013 a solar maximum is predicted. Therefore the probability is highest then: http://www.auroraborealispage.net/solarmax.html

I recently sent my 5D to have the sensor cleaned. When the camera returned, the focus confirmation dot (flashing red light) on manual mode is indicating at the wrong place and all the images are coming out of focus. The autofocus is working perfectly. The company which I shall not name insists tha the software they are using shows that the focus is within canon tolerance. I keep stressing that they need to use their eyes, not the automated software.
Are the Autofocus mechanism and the AF confirm light on manual mode independent?
