I like that a lot, Ken! I'm not sure about the top edge of the dune though, at this resolution it looks a little "crunchy"?

I got a few nice pictures last weekend, but for some reason this is my favorite.

Though I think it's much better at the larger sizes, eg 2048 if your monitor will fit it.

Nex-7 and ZM 50/2 Planar.

has been a mission of mine for a while to get some unique shots of this place, something that for a lot of people seems a struggle with. Full moon calling here next week with sunrise mid winter also calling.

Ok this one... I've been passing Antwerp station by train a few times before, and have been impressed each time. The lower platforms have dark blue / purple lights and massive walls of light. I always wanted to come back and take a look around, and yesterday I finally did! The station turned out to be even bigger than I imagined, and it's interesting to see how a the intricacy of the original building has been complemented by modern minimalism.
This is also the very first time I used "desaturating every colour except one" technique (there must be a proper term...) I usually hate it because I've seen way too many pictures of yellow cabs in NYC and red roses or lips treated in the same way. But here I figured it gives it an interesting touch, balancing the attention between the oversized running man and the small green-lit emergency sign (where, notice, the man is missing

I took a series of pictures in Vaxholm where I spent today, a beutiful, warm and sunny Sunday. I posted them in the NEX thread, and out of all pics, I choose this one, because I feel I'm "there" when I look at it + my love is in it.

Vaxholm is the port to the swedish archipegalo, and if you ever visit Stockholm in summer, this is the place to go. Beutiful little town, and you can take any of a number of boats out to the many islands.

I'll play again. I try my best to avoid dogs, cats or kids but not today. My son just had his 9th birthday and he wanted roller blades which he got. We went to a square close by and he has just finished his first 20 minutes on them in hot sun and was exhausted and thirsty. His hair is always wild but now spiced with a recently removed helmet and sweat.

This is 5D2 with the Zeiss 50 Planar @ F/1.4, love this lens' character for just about anything reasonably close by. This is close.

Thanks! She is 3 1/2 years old now, going on 20. She was the easiest little baby I have ever heard of, but now at 3 she has enough personality for 3 I had another big evening tonight getting her to bed without bullying her, but without giving in. She is a tough nut. I think I have matured about 2000% since having her. I think I need about 3000% to consider myself mature, so maybe next year or so I will be a good person Maybe I can find some nice shots where she is not recognizable, and that way get them past my girlfriend.

Found one. This is my best shot for the week of the 19th of September, 2011 That is my lightest monopod she is using to make sure that if she lets go, her kites don't get lost forever.

Does SWMBO patrol your posts for enforcement?

This is a great use of minimal DOF. Very cute.

I was en route to the subway to rendezvous with a few people and saw a couple trying to pose in front of the fountain and was thinking about setting up a few feet away for a candid, but was a little more interested in the security guard's silhouette in the building. I ended up getting a great silhouette of him patrolling but with a less interesting composition, so I suppose this is a bit of a "compromise shot."

I also have Carstens' problem, but i just choose to ignore my girlfriend

5D, Samyang 85mm plus Kenko 12mm tube, taken 2 days ago. Don't use the 85mm as much as i should, but it usually delivers when i do.

I don't know whether I am looking at your daughter or your girlfriend but I like this picture very much.

Thanks tooth. I think its not just my best picture this week, but probably the best so far this year.

Definitely my daughter - though she looks a little older in the photo, she's only 6 years old so she's a few years away from being anyone's girlfriend i hope...
