Somewhere off the road in Maricopa, AZ. I wish the mountain range went across the entire frame as the right side is a bit unbalanced. Nonetheless, I still like the shot.
Missed yesterday's shot, cold, cloudy & very windy. Thought I would miss tonight, it snowed all afternoon. But after sundown things cleared up enough to allow me to get my shot.

The warm city lights at the bottom of the photo really enhance it. They give a sense of place and scale.

On the way home (2 miles from home tops) I spotted a little opening to a still plot of water. I spun around and parked and ran into the tall grass and trees and saw a swan bedded down.
The swan heard me and went in the water where it swam not far from me for a while. Far enough to be safe. I tried taking shots but it was too dark for me to keep still at longer shutter speeds. Tried balancing 1000 iso and different apertures. Tried manual focus, manual, aperture priority and Shutter priority.
Nope.
Got to where I thought I was most capable and the pics were really dark. So I kept them and went home and edited. There’s a little blur and grain on the swan but still kind of cool. Obviously I had no tripod with me. One of the water ways I edited more blue.
