That did not need to be shot at ISO 6400, so it's not the best indicator of image quality as high ISO.
Other than that, it's a good shot. What kind of feeder is that? I really want to find a way to attract those things around here.
Well if it had been at 400iso, SS 1/25th. Good luck getting a bird to sit still that long, or getting a sharp picture with a 100-400, it really WOULD be mushy. A great pic, IMHO of course!

My wife does a lot of bird photography. molson's shutter speed at 1/420 is really a bare minimum for that kind of shot.
Small birds are really a PITA to get good photos of. They are so small and fast. Twitching all the time and the slightest movement or sound and they are gone.
Maybe you should stick to your smartphone snapshots.
It was sitting still. You probably could have run at 1/100 and had no issues with that shot. I stand by that statement, there’s too much light for that to be a true example of what ISO 6400 would deliver when it was needed.

Oh I’m sure they are, but I would have conceded a faster shutter speed if it had been in flight, and maybe I’m wrong and the thing was moving back and forth before stopping, but still I could see ISO 1600 with that shot.

Lovely. Do you like the Fuji better or your Sony AIV?
Thank you! I think if I had to pick/keep one it would be the Sony mainly because I love FF and the lenses I have for my Sony, but I really love the Fuji and files it produces! Colors SOOC are really great and even if I do want to edit, I find them really easy to work with! That 33mm is an amazing lens, it will likely be my main walk around lens when I travel!

I read your answer to my wife Busse. She asks if you have ever photographed small birds?
A cliche.
I know clouds are cliche, but it was a nice morning, and photography, it's all about light.
Panorama taken with the X-Pro3 and the good old Fuji 15-45.
