The ZM 35/2 has purple corners on the Nex 7. The cv 35/1.2 vII does not.
Sorry I'm kinda late to this party, but I've been lusting over new glass for my nex-7 and I just happened to stumble across the voigt 35/1.2 V2 and and REALLY interested.
Would a cheapo adapter be okay? or should I drop some coin for a more expensive one. I have a cheapo adapter for my nikkors and can't really complain.

With this lens (it varies from lens to lens), the Fotodiox is perfect. The Metabones is a bit loose lens-to-adapter wise, as is the helicoid (it's just a bit wobbly no matter what).
With the Metabones, the lens itself twists ever so slightly when I focus, which drives me nuts. The Fotodiox isn't "cheap" but it's < half the price of the Metabones.
The lens itself is borderline too big/heavy on the Nex-7, for me. I shoot two-handed so balance is fine, IMO, it's just heavy. But I think the only thing smaller that can do as much is the 35 Lux FLE which is waaaay more expensive.

The V1 has 0.7m close focus and that is pretty poor, even considering the platform it was designed for.
That's quite poor compared to 50mm which also have mfd around 0.5m though and they are usually only around 0.1x magnification at mfd. Still a lot better than 0.7m which is not much better than most fast 85mm lenses.

Thanks! thats just the info I'm looking for. Now to figure out what gear needs to go to make room for the 35/1.2...
Pity you are in the US (shipping hassle) as I am considering parting with mine. I find it excellent, but too heavy for my liking on the GXR. I have grown fond of small lenses, like the VC15/4.5. Also, I have the A12/33mm module so I have got that focal length covered already. Even though I am thoroughly enjoying the 1.2 indoors I am by no means a low light shooter. I find the 0.5m close focus adequate for APS-C.
I haven't unpacked the lens shade as I find the lens is quite flare resistant on its own. Is anyone actually using the lens shade?
I use the shade if I don't have a var-ND filter on mine (as it won't fit both at the same time), but mostly for protection and because I've never tested it without.
I use the shade to pull the lens out of the bag and to keep my fingers off the front element. I'm not sure how effective it is against direct sunlight, etc., and agree the lens alone is quite flare resistant.

Just imagine using a 21mm lens with 70cm minimum focusing distance... while the RF wide lenses tend to be very high quality, there is definitely a tradeoff when it comes to close-in work.

TSY87, thanks. I am parting with it to finance some Leica R glass.
Ron, the close focus is why I have stayed off some of the Leica offerings for wide angle, 0.7m is quite poor indeed for a 21mm.
Just picked up a Leica R to M adapter for the GXR so I hope to have an R lens or two coming my way next week, which is a bit contradicting my previous statement. But, I am hoping to get double duty out of the R lenses and I find using a telephoto lens on the GXR for static shots is working just fine.
