This equipment has come available to me for virtually nothing. I will apologize for this question in advance, as I assume this stuff is worth alot of money--but, frankly, I don't know! The equipment is in "as new" condition according to my friend. So, is this a great value at $500?

Would check if the lenses are T* coated trough. I would not go for the pre T* lenses since there is a quite big difference in quality compared to the coated ones.
And ask if he has some backs to sell for you. Else you would have to buy at least one back with should cost you another 150 to 200 euro.
To compare, 500 C/M body with 2.8/80 T* lens would cost about 750 euro in the store next to me.
In the used market world of Hasselblad that list is not the "stuff - worth a lot of money" - but would make a nice play around kit depending on what you'd like to do with it. For $500 it's hard to loose - count in the expense for film and processing and the bulk of moving it around.
The 90/2.8 is probably a typo - might be an 80/2.8 - the Synchro-Compur's are from the older "C" series - check to see that they are T* coated - the 50/4 is problably the standard "C" 50mm - not regarded as a high IQ lens - that lens was greatly improved by the 'CF/FLE" series.
