Just left PPO and was able to play with the 5d3 and use my own cf card with my 85 1.2
Love the camera and new grip! I never like grips but I'll be picking this one up for the 5d3
Then canon had the 1dx... Well just say I should have never picked it up lol. Amazing speed and feel to it. Too bad it's 7k lol
Just stopped in to my local camera shop and they know for a fact that they have been shipped the 5d3's. So they are on the way. So here's hoping for Monday lol
Thanks, Jonsey. Did you do any NR on those high ISO shots? Or were they JPEGs to which the camera did some? I'm hoping not... if not, I'm suitably impressed - that looks darn good. I get way too much noise from my 5D II in low light at 3200.
Af was fast and snappy! I put my 85L on and shot at 1.2 and it focused pretty quick. The 6fps was nice! you wouldn't think a few more fps then the 5d2 would make a difference but it does!! I sold my MKIV for this and was worried that I made the wrong decision but after getting my hands on one today I am excited to get it. For weddings, portraits and some action this seems perfect.
But I shot the 1DX after the 5D3 and I fell in love with the 12fps and the feel of it. NICE camera but for twice the amount of the 5D3 I will take the 5D3.

If you've shot with a lot of the Canon cameras each one of these steps is significant
4 -> 6 -> 8 -> 10
Even if you think 8fps is fast, 10 feels a lot quicker, so 12fps must be amazing. I would have liked the 5D III to be 7fps, but I can live with 6fps.
he is right though
big diff 4 or 5 vs 6 and 6 vs 8 etc.
it can mean one key frame or sometimes two or virtually always two, it doesn't take much to make a diff
