I sure missed this post some how. The first shot is definitely my pick of the two as it shows more of the lake. In the second image there is too much sky to be a lake shot
I like the first and last (lot of detail) RWBB images best

Hey Ron, it looks like you had a beautiful day at the lake. There are aspects of each of the first two that compete for me "like". The first has the foreground reeds which immediately draw me in to the water and the second has a more interesting sky which makes me want to look up and see the sun rising. As for the RWBB, sweet images and i know how you feel about the clipped wings but damn you do have some nice ones there. Guess you'll just have to make a return trip eh?
Eric
Thanx Eric. I hadn't planned on the landscapes, but as I walked to the lake pulling the kayak loaded with my gear, I thought I should snap a few. I should have waited for the sun to rise a little higher, but I also wanted to be on the lake when the sun was right.

The lake reminds me of Oakland Lake. 4 and the last are beauties Ron

I enjoyed the series, Ron. Buffies are just naturally shy.

I have odd thoughts on the lake shots Ron. 1 has all the elements but 2 is more pleasing to my eye. I go back and forth and though 1 is technically better 2 gives me a better feel. That ought to mix you up some
Really nice work on the RWBB. You have some lovely blacks there, really nice work. I like the last one the best
Tim
Thanx Tim. I know what you mean about the landscapes, (is that bad... ). Neither is special, but each has it's merits - that's why I posted them for comments. The birds sure were fun - I could have stayed a lot longer if I didn't have other things to do that day.

Sounds and looks peaceful there Ron
I like the Buffies and agree the BG is nice, might cut some off the bottom to just above the green line??
Fine job on your RWBB's, such a fun challenging subject and these are set nicely on clean BG's!
That first RWBB shot is sweet and I too wish you hadn't clipped the wings in the second one
Last one is something special, great shot buddy
Karl
Thanx Karl. You are correct, (of course ), on the crop. It's much easier to get clean BGs when you are in a yak, and the burdz are well off the water.

Ron, both landscapes are great, but I like the lighting on the first one a bit more. I love that RWB shot in #4! Beautiful !
Nancy
Thanx for the nice words Nancy.

Howard
I agree Howard. The landscapes are OK. I also prefer the burdz.

Man that last frame is a sweetie Ron, great work
Beautiful place to spend some time look like and you took away some wonderful images
Tom
Thanx Tom. That lake is dying. Most of it is now less than 2' deep due to erosion from farmland, but the RWBBs love the reeds.
