I kind of agree...The K-01 is basically a camera with most of the size of a dslr, and none of the benefits (optical view finder). May as well just buy a K-5.

Even as a Pentax supporter, I can't see myself buying this thing. I like the idea, but Pentax bodies are small already, and for actual-smallness, we have the Pentax Q (Which is also neat, but I'll never buy), so why does this K-01 exist?
Why can't Pentax focus on filling in their SLR lens line instead? Man, if I was in charge! Rabble Rabble Rabble!

because Pentax has to have a mirrorless camera aimed at "serious" photographers to check that feature off. that the K-01 takes everything important about why someone wants a mirrorless camera and ignores them shows where they're headed these days.
Herb...

Probably best chance for PENTAX/RICOH in mirrorless would be releasing K-Module for Ricoh GXR.
Maybe, but that still leaves an unnecessarily large mirror(less) box. I was really hoping that Pentax would come up with an all new mirrorless camera system with new lenses. They can always adapt K mount lenses to it via adapter like Sony.

Mescalamba; they should spell it JOQ, pronounced jou-cue, or in short; Joke.
I think it is short for Joint Operations Questionable.
Initially I thought it was good for Pentax, and good for Ricoh. Now, I am not sure anymore.
Pentax will "handle" Ricoh digital camera sales. Who will handle R&D? Who will manage joint R&D synergy? Can they and will they cooperate?
Ricoh should keep developing the GXR line and the GR series and leave the rest to Pentax. Pentax should not look at market sales figures only (mirrorless has grown to a very large market share in Japan) but more at what the end user would like to have, feature wise and handling wise.
They need to start with a solid platform/base camera. What good are all those excellent Pentax lenses when the camera platform is not up to par?

Well, they said something about new camera (regular dSLR) and maybe even full-frame, so not all hope is lost, yet.
Just K-01 or joQ are slightly decreasing any faith left in Pentax. Its as much depressing as watching Kodak sink.
