Here's a set from last spring a few days after I got my new T3i. I was still learning the camera, but did document a large bull elk during the few days he shed his antlers. Most all my work was video during that time, but here are a few pics we got as well. It's much more of a documentary than good photo's but quite fun to have been able to do.
Had the good fortune to locate this bull again this year about 1500' up the mountain in a crazy, cliffy oakbrush nightmare
Just right for sneaking in and getting his pic again.
Earlier in the week I was able to get some more film too !!!

He has a very distinguished knob on his left ear that he also had last year. Pretty incredible to find the same critter two years in a row. Here's hoping I can keep track of him over the next few weeks and with alot of luck maybe even film him shedding his antlers. To me that would be the holy grail of wildlife filming
Nicely documented, I have some footage of a moose dropping an antler and have witnessed an antler fall 4 times as well. Never gets old, good luck on your quest.
