Very nice presentation, Conrad, and they are all very very good.
In the past 2-3 years you have made a remarkable progress.
You've finally got what is probably the best focusing camera by Canon at present, as well as one of the best wildlife lenses. Now you may wish to challenge yourself even more and go farther in perfecting an all around aspect of photography.
My favourite is No.2 because of the nice background , and also it is a bona fide IF shot and not an in-flap one. However, on that one I think two things need addressing:
(1) Reframe so the bird is not crashing onto the frame bottom.
(2) Get rid of that intrusive background band on top of the frame.
While we are talking framing, take another look at your last shot and move the bird around the frame......ask yourself if there is a more "natural" looking position for it than the bottom right hand corner.
Is it my imagination or did we just talk about this exact thing in the last 2 weeks? This was your Holy Grail and you must be so stoked that you nailed it. I guess there was some divine providence that you weren't presented with the opportunity until you got the 1D4.
