Being a "rock guy" I like shots like this. It is fun to try to process the scale of the image with the information within the picture. That's what makes this sort of shot work for me. Good eye.

The tree almost gets lost because of the textured background. I wish you could isolate it a little more. Other than that, I like El Capitan's texture and shadows.

Hi Heinz, I really enjoyed your original horizontal version. The tree is a bit lost but when you notice it the scale suddenly surprises you which I kind of like.
