We had a real mild winter till now David but the last couple of weeks have more tan made up for it.

Hey, Martin- good stuff all 'round. And the first two images certainly convey the idea of "cold."
If it helps tiny birds survive extreme and unusual cold, putting out feeder bags is more than okay in my book- it's honorable. And documenting it with excellent images like these is totally fair and square.
