These are some shots of a family of Trumpter Swans that I have been watching since spring, the pair started out with 6 little guys and sadly in less then 2 weeks only one was left. Well I'm happy to say he/she is almost all grown up. It's been a real treat watching them.
My 7D is off to Canon The dreaded error 30 message so I took my 40D out for a spin for the last 3 shots from this week.
1. June 2010 down to 4.
2. August, I want to fly.
3, 4, Shot this week.
5. Mom.
What a sight, the little ones with their parents. Sadly, their mortality is high....they are lucky if left with one offspring that reaches adolescence.

Peter, I was suprised how quickly they disappeared, the parents were very protective. I think a Bald Eagle might have got some of them, he hunts in this part of the river regulery.
